diy paint splatter pumpkins in 5 minutes

diy paint splattered pumpkins

so the other day i was trying to redo my nails and i came across blood splatter nails and the dexter fan in me was totally on board. (except the ending…did you guys hate the ending?!) anyways, i found a tutorial taking a straw, dipping it in polish, than blowing on the other end right onto the nail. it was super easy, but my laundry room looked like a forensic scene. i’m glad i covered most everything in paper towels. i had some little pumpkins from target and decided to use the same technique! it was fun and literally took 5 minutes.

what you’ll need

  • pumpkins
  • i used these metallic paints in gold and black nickel
  • paper straws
  • blue tape
  • gloves
  • bowls for paint

first wrap your pumpkin stems in blue tape so they don’t get ruined. dip one end of the straw into the paint and blow onto the pumpkin, keeping in mind the angle of the splatter. the harder you blow, the better it’ll look and more paint will get onto the pumpkin. that’s it! let ’em dry and you’ll have a really cute li’l pumpkin.

and here is the comparison using the same technique! –
