It’s no secret that I tend to get extremely just a little antsy at work without a proper vacation…which usually means visiting the happiest place on earth 70% of the time. Since we’ve been saving up, vacations are a little out of reach right now, but I had to get away for the weekend. With a full tank of gas and the cheapest hotel booked, Griffin and I headed to Seaside, Oregon for a quick weekend trip!
It’s a little over 3 hours from Seattle to Seaside, so it’s not bad at all and once you hit Astoria it’s only a short drive. The Oregon coast is littered with small towns the length of a few blocks so stopping is a must, even if it’s just for a quick ocean snapshot! If you want to drive past Seaside, you will hit Cannon Beach, Rockaway Beach, Warrenton, and so many more heading south. We only went a little past Seaside, but then headed back to enjoy the brightly colored shops and delicious food. Oh…and the ocean. 😉
Wink was kind enough to send me some of their products to use on our little trip and I have to say their bright and colorful aesthetic fits right in at the beach, don’t you think? They have a wide range of beach inspired products like pool floats, clothing, beach towels, and of course adorable bags. They’ll also be popping up in my feed this Summer since I’ve discovered I can’t live without the wet bags. I just throw my wet swimsuit in and I’m good to go!
Can’t forget that good ol’ saltwater taffy!
Seaside is one of the larger towns on the coast with 3 shopping districts. (!!!) Unfortunately when the town caters to tourists this much, it means you need to book a hotel far in advance…we found that out the hard way. The south district has a fresh fish market, probably the best in the region. Surfers are spotted on the reg, eating a chocolate covered Twinkie is a great pass time, and why walk when you can ride these things around?!
These Twinkies from The Buzz were life changing. I had a white chocolate dipped cherry cheesecake Twinkie and I will never go back to a regular one after this experience.
Everything is so close down the coast so we made a quick trip to Cannon Beach for that classic Goonies shot! I love the rock formations down here, plus there were a bunch of homes for sale…you know, in case you were interested in buying beachfront property in Oregon.
YOU SHOULD SEE (in and around seaside)…Take the Astoria Riverwalk to see The Goonies house!
Terrible Tilly (Interesting story and not too far from Seaside)The ocean I like watching the surfers and murmuring that I can do that too
