DIY Plant Holders from old candle jars in less than 5 minutes

Since moving into our new place, I’ve definitely been feeling a need to nest, but in plant form. We actually have good light and a beautiful setup in the corner to collect tons of plants and dare I say, a Fiddle leaf tree?! With so many little guys sprouting up, I needed to find cheap solutions to store them in. It seems like every damn pot I find online is like $50 bucks or I just can’t find simple ones under $5. Well, that’s where my candle obsession comes in.

I love a good candle. Like, seriously. It’s been amazing to walk through the door and instead of smelling something unpleasant, hello kitty litter, you get a lovely whiff of blueberry or coconut. (On a side note, this candle and this guy here are my favorites from Ankit!) For a simple scent I go for these Vanilla ones and throw them in the bathroom and bedroom. I used to recycle the candle jars when they burnt out, but when I got the Hammered Bowl, I knew it needed to be used for something special!

To clean up those old candle jars, pop out the metal piece part at the bottom and microwave for 30 seconds. Wipe up the excess wax with a paper towel and wash with some soap and water if it’s still a little dirty. If you want to hang them, check out this stupid easy tutorial to get them same look I did!

Of course you can add any sort of paint to these little guys to make ’em pop, but I kind of love they are simply glass. Less is more, right?! Hope this post makes you think twice before tossing out those candle jars! I also have some other DIYs for your little plants right here.
